Welcome to ABWA LAEN!
I am honored and humbled to serve as your President, alongside an excellent team of Board Members. When I first visited our chapter, I knew it was right for me. At the time, I owned a recycling company specializing in automotive batteries, and found that ABWA LAEN provided the group of businesswomen and inspiration that was just what I needed! I joined ABWA the next month, May 2014, and then became an assistant, then Corporate Partner Coordinator, then board member.
Why did I become so involved? First, our purpose is clear and valuable.
The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.
Second, connections. I’ve developed strong business relationships and friendships through our group of supportive, caring and talented women. Both jobs that I hold currently are through contacts made at ABWA LAEN.
And finally, it’s fun and rewarding! I thrive by connecting and supporting other businesswomen. For fun, try out our Wine Wednesday, Lunch & Learns, or Book Groups, whichever meets your definition of fun.
Our Theme this year is “What’s in your Toolbox?” Together, we will highlight business tools to help each of us succeed. Do you typically have the right tools ready when you need them? Do you have tools to share with our members? Which tools do you need to overcome a particular challenge? Is your toolbox so full that you need help sorting out which tools are most useful (and which need to be recycled)? Whatever state your toolbox is in, we hope that ABWA LAEN can help you identify, refresh, power-up, and share your tools.
Join us; get involved as your time allows. Text or email me anytime to connect and learn more. I’d love to share more about my journey and hear about yours.
President, ABWA LAEN
